I understand what you're saying, and your comments are valuable, but I'm gonna ignore your advice. This week, we're still at Broom Street Theater, talking about Wes Anderson's adaptation of Roald Dahl's "The Fantastic Mr. Fox." One of those slovenly farmers is probably wearing my tail for a necktie.

Emma Bull’s reputation was made with her first novel, War for the Oaks, the story of a musician caught up in a battle by the forces of Faerie for control of Minneapolis. Her third, Bone Dance, was the first book to be a finalist for the Hugo, the Nebula, the Philip K. Dick, and the World Fantasy Award―no one can decide whether it should be shelved under science fiction or fantasy. She was part of Cats Laughing, a psychedelic roots-jazz-rock band that included novelists Steven Brust and Adam Stemple, and the Flash Girls, an acoustic goth-folk duo that won the 1995 Minnesota Music Award for Best World Folk Group. She is the producer for Shadow Unit, a webfiction project she shares with Elizabeth Bear, Sarah Monette, Will Shetterly, Leah Bobet, Holly Black, Amanda Downum, and others. And yes, for everyone who asks, she is working on a sequel to Territory, her novel set in Tombstone in 1881. In her spare time, Emma knits, runs, bicycles, and watches way too much genre TV.

"Zombie Joe" came to be the way all proper nicknames are - they're given to you by a friend. Solidified by getting books signed to Zombie Joe at the convention where the name was officially given, it has become as much a part of my life as my family name. Zombie Joe Alfano runs games for his friends and local community when not working the Day Job™ or doing the alternate jobs of writing horror, fantasy and science ficition or reviewing books in those genres for the website wickedlilpixie.com. And as if that wasn't enough he also has a night gig as the valet/man servant for a 2 year old fox terrier puppy. At the end of high school in the late 80's Joe (not yet dubbed a zombie) vowed never to work with computers or to deal with football players again. So of course that meant he was destined to do website work for a Division 1 athletic department as his Day Job™. What I'm saying is... be careful what you say. Karma will come back to bite you in the ass. Hard.

This week, we're back at the Froth House, and we're talking about Danny DeVito's delightful (and dark) children's movie "Matilda!" I cannot for the life of me understand why small children take so long to grow up. I think they do it deliberately, just to annoy me.

Also, here's that link to the article that star Mara Wilson wrote: http://www.cracked.com/blog/7-reasons-child-stars-go-crazy-an-insiders-perspective/

People scare better when they're dying. This week, we take a slight detour from Comic Con, and head back to the Froth House, where we talk about Sergio Leone's spaghetti western epic, "Once Upon A Time In The West." How can you trust a man who wears both a belt and suspenders? The man can't even trust his own pants.

Brian Defferding stopped paying attention in class and drew comics since he was 14 years old. Many detentions later he somehow managed to graduate from Appleton East High School in 1995, and attended Winona State University for two years, then realized “Why the heck am I getting a degree that has use in this world, I should major in fine arts and squander my savings in debt like the rest of America!” and transferred to Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1998 and graduated in 2001. It was in 2001 where he started the first pages of his gothic horror comic story “School” for his senior project. After moving back to his hometown in Wisconsin, he picked up where the first few pages left off and published the first issue in June of 2005 to positive critical reviews. Since then he’s been on tour to various conventions promoting his work. He also continues to pay off his student loan.

Some of the old time sheriffs never even wore a gun. A lotta folks find that hard to believe. This week, we continue our first-ever Comic Con panel at Wizard World’s first-ever Wisconsin Comic Con, where we discuss the Coen Brothers' "No Country For Old Men." Don't put it in your pocket. It's your lucky quarter.

Mark "The Movieman" Krawczyk has been reviewing movies since High School. While in college he took over "The Final Cut" movie review show by killing the previous host and burying the body under an apple tree on campus. The apples never tasted so sweet. After he graduated from college he took a hiatus from reviewing until Youtube came around. Once again he started doing "The Final Cut" movie review show, this time online and with less of a body count. To this day He is still doing "The Final Cut" along with hosting two podcasts, "The Spoiler Room" and "Film Jerks", both can be found on Itunes. He also is a staff member of WeLiveFilm.com where he does two weekly segments "Tuesday Terrors", which features reviews of new horror movies, and "Horror Thursdays" which features reviews of cult and older horror films. He also does written reviews for the site. His passion for films is only matched by his love of Mountain Dew.

For them an idyllic summer afternoon drive became a nightmare. This week, we join you from our first-ever Comic Con panel at Wizard World’s first-ever Wisconsin Comic Con, where we talk about the original 1974 horror masterpiece “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre!” I think we just picked up Dracula.

Jason Lachowsky is known for pointless tangents, inappropriate metaphors, and the occasional brilliant coining. His facial growth attempts are an argument against intelligent design, but he still sports a perpetual three day shadow. Previously fond of saying that the only films worth seeing were made during La Nouvelle Vague, he regrets that irksome affectation.

Say, mister. Will you stake a fellow American to a meal? Recording, once again, in Fridley, Minnesota, our subject today is John Huston's drama of greed and despiration, "The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre!" I think I'll go to sleep and dream about piles of gold getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

Jessica lives and works in St. Paul, MN, where she teaches kids about dinosaurs (and lots of other cool science stuff) at the Science Museum of Minnesota. She’s a little bit outdoorsy and likes camping and canoeing in the summer, but is an indoor kid at heart, and is more likely to be playing pub trivia, hanging out at a museum, or watching something (concerts, comedians, plays, movies, so, so much TV… etc.).

You sent us to camp. They made us sing. Recording, once again, in Fridley, Minnesota, we talk about the gothic comedy sequel "Addams Family Values!" So I killed. So I maimed. So I destroyed one innocent life after another. Aren't I a human being? Don't I yearn, and ache, and shop? Don't I deserve love... and jewelry?

Funny business, a woman's career--the things you drop on your way up the ladder so you can move faster. You forget you'll need them again when you get back to being a woman. Recording at the Froth House, in front of a live audience, we talk to Michael Bruno about the backstage backstabbing satire, "All About Eve." What a story! Everything but the bloodhounds snappin' at her rear end.

Carolyn is a Gemini, heathen, gen-Xer of generally Baltic extraction. She's lived most of her life in the Chicagoland area. Politically, she's a neo-tribalist, and she considers her tribe to be Midwestern art fags; with additional clannic associations with hardcore kids, gaming geeks, and travelers. She pays general allegiance to the nations of Sci-Fi geekery and slackerdom. She has friendly trade relations and strict non-aggression pacts with the Free State of Perversion, the Isle of Lesbos, and the International Skinhead Bowling League. Politically, she's a green. Her personal obsessions include music & film-making. Her day job is in food service, because food service doesn't piss-test. She is obsessed with horror films and making horror films is part of this obsession. She loves film in general, and films that evoke strong emotion best of all, and for her this is horror, sci-fi, and the cinema of the bizarre. She has been very lucky to find a vibrant and supportive community of fellow film fans, and rabid devotes: the Wisconsin Horror Mafia, and a partner in living and filmmaking: Rob Michels, founder of their production company/collective: Screaming Like Banshees. Because this obsessive devotion drives us, we are compelled to and enjoy crafting all aspects of their films from story to visuals to music. Since they are not employed at this but just obsessed with it, they are free to do just as they choose with their movies--only on a miniscule budget! That is the challenge. You can see their short films: Flesh-Eating Fog, and The Christmas Mummy online, our anthology features Terror Tales and Hole In The Wall are on VHS cassette. Their darkwave three-piece musical project, BlackLight, has a cassette out on Brave Mysteries.

Host Rob Matsushita is a playwright, author, and filmmaker. You can learn more about his work at IverPictures.com.

It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes. Recording at the Froth House, in front of a live audience, we talk about Alex Cox's punker trip through the ideas of counter-culture, "Repo Man." Put your seatbelt on, boy. I don't ride with anybody 'less they wear their seatbelt. It's one of my rules.
