A long time listener of the podcast, Jacob Nelson is a fan of film and visual media in general, the more brain churning the better. When Jacob isn't busy staring off into nothing and contemplating his small place in the universe, he enjoys connecting with other artists through Project Famous, an artist collective in Madison, WI. Maybe one day Jacob will make his own madness of film? He can dream!

I want you to know that I don't care about any of that stuff. Because I'm in lesbians with you. This week, we're still at Geek.kon, where we cannibalize our audience and try to talk about Edgar Wright's "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" again. I said "lesbians."

I've never cried since I was a kid, I cried that time. I swore to myself that no one will point at me with a gun. This week, it's "WE FINALLY GET TO TALK ABOUT JOHN WOO: Part Two," at Geek.kon, where we discuss director John Woo's first foray into modern action, "A Better Tomorrow," starring Ti Lung, Chow Yun Fatt, and the late, great Leslie Cheung. I'm as busy as a buffalo.

Emma Bull’s reputation was made with her first novel, War for the Oaks, the story of a musician caught up in a battle by the forces of Faerie for control of Minneapolis. Her third, Bone Dance, was the first book to be a finalist for the Hugo, the Nebula, the Philip K. Dick, and the World Fantasy Award―no one can decide whether it should be shelved under science fiction or fantasy. She was part of Cats Laughing, a psychedelic roots-jazz-rock band that included novelists Steven Brust and Adam Stemple, and the Flash Girls, an acoustic goth-folk duo that won the 1995 Minnesota Music Award for Best World Folk Group. She is the producer for Shadow Unit, a webfiction project she shares with Elizabeth Bear, Sarah Monette, Will Shetterly, Leah Bobet, Holly Black, Amanda Downum, and others. And yes, for everyone who asks, she is working on a sequel to Territory, her novel set in Tombstone in 1881. In her spare time, Emma knits, runs, bicycles, and watches way too much genre TV.

Well, my mom already left for the diner, and dad went to 7-Eleven to get scratchers...I guess he won, 'cause that was six years ago. This week, we're hangin' out at Geek.kon and talking about "Iron Man 3!" I seem to do quite well for a stretch, and then at the end of the sentence I say the wrong cranberry.
